Regarding sore joints, my husband is a runner, and I have used various concoctions of lavender, lemon, and peppermint for his feet, especially when he was trail running long distances. We would put the oils in an espsom salt foot bath and he would find relief. As a rub, I like adding clove and helichrysum to a mix of lavender and/or peppermint. (Sorry I don’t have any specific recipes off-hand but found or altered many of mine from “The Complete Book of Essential Oils and Aromatherapy” book by Valerie Ann Worwood.) I hope this information helps and doesn’t further confuse.

Hi there! The reason that you need to use dark bottles is because of the Essential Oils that go into the recipes. Essential Oils are AMAZING, but really sensitive to light. Using a dark colored glass bottle or jar is what helps to keep them safe. If you do use something that is clear make sure to store it in a cool, dry, and dark place so that it isn’t heated and definitely no direct sunlight! Also, if you use plastic the essential oils will eventually eat away at the plastic because they are potent. When I use a plastic container I only use it once. Pour almost 2 ounces of your Castor Oil into your dropper bottle. Add your essential oils. Put on dropper lid and shake bottle. Apply to your scalp each morning and massage into scalp. Wait 20 minutes and then wash hair. You can also apply before bed. If you want to apply more frequently without an oil feel, you can make the serum using almost 2 ounces of distilled water and 1 teaspoon of witch hazel instead of the castor oil.
