Regarding sore joints, my husband is a runner, and I have used various concoctions of lavender, lemon, and peppermint for his feet, especially when he was trail running long distances. We would put the oils in an espsom salt foot bath and he would find relief. As a rub, I like adding clove and helichrysum to a mix of lavender and/or peppermint. (Sorry I don’t have any specific recipes off-hand but found or altered many of mine from “The Complete Book of Essential Oils and Aromatherapy” book by Valerie Ann Worwood.) I just bought an aromatherapy diffuser and it didn't specify much about the oil to use other than an essential oil of my choice. I chose to use these essential oils and I would buy them again. The fragrances cover all of the typical aromatherapy uses and allow for mixing of scents to match your preferences and need. My personal favorite is eucalyptus. I haven't gone through all of the combinations yet, but I think it'd be difficult to create a bad fragrance with these oils. If you aren't sure which type of scent you like then this is the perfect package for you because the bottles are so small! It's like a sampler pack for the scents, but a little really does go a long way. I'd say this is a good purchase as a good price.
So then, where is the recipe credit on this site?! These recipes are NOT rocket science- the base of the ingredients are the base of all EO recipes. From there, all you have to know is the uses of each oil. For the most part anything skin and hair are Pete and Repeat over and over. Unless someone comes up with some magical new recipe on their own the credit is not theirs. These are ancient oils and recipes forgotten by the population and traded for easy, pretty, and sometimes “better” fragrances. The issue is the chemicals are TOXIC. So, if anyone needs to credit or cite you could start looking in B.C. time. I’m not sure they used A.P.A.
I just made the Balancing Perfume Blend. I then multiplied by four and added one ounce Distilled Water and one ounce Witch Hazel to a two ounce dark glass spray bottle. Just shake and spray and you have an instant Room Fragrance Spray. I also made the Luxurious Exfoliating Body Scrub. It smelled heavenly and left my skin super soft. I’m thinking of using the olive oil and salt blend as a base in a jar by the tub and customizing it to my needs. Then I can add specific blends to my silver dollar sized scrub like Muscle Love Essential Oil Blend if I have sore muscles, or a headache blend when my head hurts. I could add Anti-Fungal Blend for Athlete’s Foot, etc… The possibilities are endless. Thanks for inspiring me!
Measure your salt and pour into a large glass bowl. Add your olive oil and mix well with a metal spoon. Add your essential oils and continue to stir your mixture. Slowly scoop into your glass pot. Close tightly with white lid and label. Store in a cool, dark place. Scoop out a silver dollar size of scrub and apply to body. Repeat weekly. This is one of the most pampering DIY essential oil recipes 🙂
Just off-hand, though, peppermint, lavender, and frankincense are often recommended for headaches. Other oils that can help with congestion are rosemary and eucalyptus, but these should not be used with children under the age of 5 nor with pregnant mamas. The migraine recipe noted below likely would help with a sinus headache but some people might find the addition of rosemary or eucalyptus might help relieve some of the congestion faster.
I received my necklace last week and decided to wear it a few times before posting. The diffuser pads hold oil very well and the scent lasts, the first pad I used still is holding scent days later. I have had no issues with the metal so it truly is hypoallegenic as it states since I am extremely sensitive and most that claim still cause me problems. My peeve is that the clasp on the necklace itself is difficult to use, the loop is quite small making it difficult to attach. Otherwise I love it.
